Unit #27 History

Lots for new homes in Unit #27, were first released for sale on February 7, 2001 with the first home closing on August 3, 2001.   Of the 76 lots available, all 76 have now been sold, completed and closed.

Darlene and Ken Bergmeier were appointed to be our first unit and Deputy unit representatives in the fall of 2002.  At that time the unit began coming together as an active part of the SaddleBrooke 2 lifestyle. In January 2004, Don Erickson was appointed Unit Representative and Rich LaRosa as the Deputy Rep. In the fall of 2005, the Unit Reps were replaced by Larry Zanatta and Melody Branstrom.

We are all happy to be out of the snow and cold and to be a part of the SaddleBrooke / MountainView Community and especially to be a part of Unit #27.

If unit lot owners or residents are interested in being a part of any unit activity, contact the activity chair-person or the Unit Social Chairman for information.

The unit has four weekly golf activities. There are a men’s Wednesday and Saturday groups and two ladies’ groups that play on Friday. One group plays nine holes every Friday while the other plays eighteen every other week. There are monthly Hors d’oeuvre Parties, Neighborhood Dining Parties, a Dine-Around Night, a couple’s golf outing and a couple’s bridge night. Unit outings have also visited Kitt Peak, the Gas Light Dinner Playhouse, the Hidden Valley Inn, the Pima Air Museum and the Biosphere.

There is also a dedicated group of daily walkers and bike riders. Other members get their exercise by playing regularly in organized tennis and golf programs.

All unit residents and lot owners are encouraged to participate in the regularly scheduled monthly activities. Check us out on the attached pages to see what fun you too could be having as a member of Unit #27 at SaddleBrooke. You can’t help but like the lifestyle.
